Arrival in UK

It's been long time I haven't written anything and that's quite against of my blogging habits. But, actually I was so busy preparing for the UK trip. Changing location is such a tedious task and if it is international one, needs to have a back to back planning. In past few years I have been changing cities so frequently across the Indian states and almost get used to that but still be nervous while planning for a new one.

Anyway the journey was good, full of excitement and also tiresome due to nine hour long flight. From the start of the journey till end, the only point where I got stuck was the immigration process at LHR (London Heathrow) Airport. It took almost two hours due to endless queue and less no. of processing counters. Jet lag was also conducive to my fatigue as in India it was midnight and my body was badly requesting for at least a quick nap. Finally at 9:30 P.M. (+4:30 hours in India) I got out of Airport and met the lady driver who was had been waitinbg there for more than two hours, seemed to be exhausted but did not forget to greet me with a grin on my arrival. For the next one hour in taxi, I was dead to the world. I came back to my conscience when the lady driver asked me to identify the house and I was surprised when she identified it by herself saying that “there is OM written on that house, it must be the one your friend lives in” (that OM was in HINDI). I waved my hand towards the balcony where my friend “Dhananjay Kale” was trying to look in the outside dark to identify if it was me. I got inside the house and met the family: the landlord, his wife, his son and daughter in law with a one year grandson and an odd lot person Mr. Paul. It was nice to be welcomed in Hindi by the landlord. The landlord Mr. Ramoo is native of Mauritius (Indian migrant) and now settled in UK. He is quite religious and renowned for his spiritual sessions among local Hindus and Firangs as well.

The next morning was quite pleasant. A sunny day filled with chilly wind. Everybody was comfortable with the weather except me. It was less than 24 hours, I left Delhi’s scorching heat and my body wanted some more time to be adjusted with this weather. One more thing to which I confronted for first few days was the sunset and sunrise timings. Normal sunrise at this time is at 5 A.M. and sunset is at 9:45 P.M. That’s enough to disturb your body cycle. It’s weird to have dinner before sunset so we normally wait for the dark sometimes uptill 10 P.M. to start dinner.
It’s my first weekend here but couldn’t go anywhere. I decide to spend the time at home and now I am involved in my favorite pastime i.e. reading and writing. Actually, if you are not planned for the weekend, you have no other choice but to stay at home. It’s not like India where if you get bored, you can sit in balcony and watch colorful people (girls specially) or go out stroll along the streets and have a Nukkad Tea. Doesn’t matter if you are alone, you can chose to hear people sipping tea with all Politics, Cricket or Bollywood gossips.
It’s a good experience to see the other side of the world. I am closely observing the differences between us and them. Nothing much to say at this time. Will keep on sharing my experience………..be with me

Cheers!
